Looks like he’s in Edinburgh now. Latest post: in alternito land, the basic life form is not human or animal but a business. mating is a one-way operation of selling goods or services. upon your birth, your business plan is registered on the global stock exchange, and you work with other life forms by collaborating on joint projects which produce more value then either of you could obtain alone. of course this isn't scalable, but as a newly established business life form you only care about your local objectives. every so often in alternito a strange thing is born. it doesn't know how to sell or buy; it can't add value and in many ways doesn't understand value. it simply enjoys the silent beauty of existence. it watches the mating of the businesses; the explosion of value, and the disruption. but it cannot consume. some have tried to live off the value created by the other life forms, but the intangible doesn't have much sustenance. This list has always been a handy resource - much more active in the old days, but I think we were still trying to find our way - I guess we have matured as .NET has matured (although my wife might disagree)! We're all Ninja Top-Guns now, so there's less need for chatter. Seen lots of interesting people pass through here as well. Anyone remember Silky? Was he the guy who posted insulting messages, and when it got a bit hot in the kitchen (with me in the pile-on) he decided to quit the group and go hang out with the "Java geniuses" over in their forum? His personal home page was full of busty babes in bikinis (not making any value judgments here, just mentioning it!!!) This is still my favourite email list. Thanks so much for keeping it alive. P.S. I have a TGIF flaming post tomorrow that will reheat the kitchen! Greg
